This series of reports is a course taught at the Summer School 2021 at the Sino-Russian Mathematical Center Base of Central China Normal University.

Abstract 

This short course is a guide to the modular representation theory of finite groups and consists of nine lectures with contents:  representations and modules of group algebras, the structure of finite dimensional algebras, module homomorphisms, tensor products, induction and restriction, relative homological algebras, vertices and sources of indecomposable modules, the BCP theorem and the first Main Theorem.

Bio

Jon F. Carlson is Professor of University of Georgia, USA, famous in the field of algebras. He published 148 journal papers in Ann. of Math., Invent. Math., etc. and was an ICM speaker.
